Croatian Marketing Translation & Transcreation Services
Your brand deserves more than a word-for-word translation. Whether it’s your website copy, eCommerce shop, ads, or any other creative content, it should sound like it was written for your Croatian audience from the start.

When it comes to spending, trust is a huge factor:
Croatian online shoppers spend an average of 117 euros in domestic stores, compared to just 54 euros on foreign websites.
Here's the thing: You’re competing with local businesses
They already speak to Croatian customers in natural, idiomatic language – and customers notice.
If your website, ads, or product pages sound translated, or even just slightly “off”, local competitors gain an immediate advantage. Not because their product is better, but because their messaging feels closer, clearer, and more credible.
In this situation well-adapted Croatian isn’t just nice to have. It’s a competitive requirement. Proper marketing translation ensures your brand doesn’t just exist in Croatian, but communicates with the same clarity, tone, and persuasion as local brands.

Avoid common pitfalls of machine or low‑quality translation
Translation greatly influences user experience and buying behavior. Poor translations lead to loss of trust, lower conversion rates, confusion, and frustration.
Automatic translation has indeed come a long way since the early days of Google Translate. However, some quick facts:
- AI and machine translation tools were mostly trained on English materials (according to OpenAI, English represented 93% of GPT-3’s training data).
- Croatian accounts for approximately 0.2% of all website content on the internet (W3Techs, February 2026), which is why it’s considered a low-resource language. This means there is a lack of training data, and the results just can’t be as good.
I’m not saying don’t use AI at all, just be aware it’s not a magic wand.
Your communication with buyers, users, or potential clients is way too important to put it through ChatGPT and call it a day.
Working with a professional marketing translator ensures your message is not only correct but also natural and culturally appropriate.
Marketing translation pricing and rates
Every project is unique, so I’ll provide a tailored quote after reviewing your files. That said, for budgeting purposes, most projects fall within a range that’s roughly comparable to €0.10 per word.
Final pricing depends on a few key factors, such as:
Word count
Discounts are possible for long-term collaborations, retainer-type agreements, or larger projects with flexible deadlines. Repetitive content is billed at a reduced rate. (In other words: the more you translate, the more you save.)
Subject matter and complexity
General business or lifestyle texts typically fall on the lower end of the scale. Highly specialized or technical content may require additional research and subject-matter expertise, which can affect pricing.
Turnaround time
Level of adaptation needed
While for some texts a straightforward translation and basic localization will be more than enough, others may require a significant amount of adaptation, rewriting, transcreation, or SEO optimization. The more creative or specialized the adaptation, the more time and expertise it requires.
If you’re unsure where your project fits, feel free to get in touch – I’m happy to advise.
New clients may be asked for an advance payment. The minimum order for small projects is €20.00.
How it works
You send your content
Share your website text, documents, or marketing materials (.xliff, .docx, .txt, .pptx, .xlsx, .csv, .html, .xml.… any kind of editable file is ok), as well as a few sentences about your business, or ideally – a content brief.
We clarify the details
I ask questions and confirm the deadline and pricing, as well as your goals, target audience, and preferred tone to make sure your message lands perfectly in Croatian. If needed, we can also schedule a call to get to know each other.
Translation & adaptation
Your content is translated, localized, and polished so that it reads naturally in Croatian. If I have any questions along the way, I’ll contact you via email.
Review & delivery
You receive the translation ready to use, in the same format you sent it. If you have any questions, comments or tweaks, I’ll be happy to help.
You publish with confidence
Your Croatian content is ready to engage, persuade, and convert.
FAQ
What's the difference between marketing translation, transcreation and localization?
Localization
Beyond translating text, localization is about adapting navigation, user interfaces, currencies, date formats, etc., so that the experience feels fully natural for Croatian audiences. More on localization here.
Marketing translation (or creative translation)
The goal here is to adapt your copy so that it sounds natural and persuasive in Croatian – not like a translation. Your original message and brand tone are kept, but the rhythm, style and cultural nuances are adjusted to the target audience. Think website copy and SEO articles.
Transcreation
Transcreation is a mix of translation and copywriting. It often includes up to three creative versions, along with a back translation and rationale explaining the choices behind each. The goal is to recreate the same emotional impact, not the same words. Think taglines, slogans, and advertising campaigns.
———
If you’re unsure which one you need, don’t worry. These services often overlap – for example, an important landing page might require a mix of all three. In the end, the right approach depends on your goals and content, and I’m here to ask questions and provide advice when needed.
Who can benefit from Croatian transcreation or marketing translation services?
They’re ideal for brands entering the Croatian market, eCommerce stores targeting Croatian buyers, B2B companies with Croatian clients, and any organization looking to connect with Croatian audiences.
How long does it take to translate or transcreate marketing materials into Croatian?
Turnaround depends on the length and complexity of your content. For most straightforward marketing texts, I can typically translate 1,500–2,000 words per working day. Once the translation is complete, I let it rest for a day or two so I can edit it with a fresh set of eyes before sending it back to you.
How much do creative translation services for Croatian cost?
Every project is unique, so you’ll receive a tailored quote after reviewing your files. That said, for budgeting purposes, most projects fall within a range that’s roughly comparable to €0.10 per word.
Do you provide marketing translations into other languages?
For marketing and localization projects, I translate from English, French and Czech exclusively into Croatian, as these types of texts should always be handled by a native speaker.
Do you use translation software and can you work with mine?
Of course. I use Trados Studio, a professional translation software that helps keep your terminology consistent and speeds up the process. Just to be clear, these tools aren’t the same as automatic translation – every word is still carefully translated and reviewed by me.
I’ve also worked with Phrase, memoQweb, Smartcat, Lokalise, etc., so if your team already uses a specific platform – I’m happy to adapt.
