Localization is a business investment
Localization isn’t just about translating strings or adjusting formats. It shapes how Croatian users experience your product from the first click. When language, tone, and UX feel intuitive, your product is easier to understand and more comfortable to use.
Local businesses already communicate this way. Proper localization helps you meet the same expectations and compete with them on equal footing.
For companies entering a new market, localization isn’t just about translating text. It’s a business decision that supports sign-ups, customer loyalty, and long-term results.

“Working with Ivana has been nothing but a positive experience. She’s very professional, highly adaptable and always goes the extra mile to achieve the best outcomes for translations.
She’s not only a competent linguist, but also understands how the technical setup works for localization purposes. She works very independently, always sticks to set deadlines and helps if there are any open or urgent questions.
If you’re looking for someone who’s not only motivated but also kind and helpful, Ivana is your go-to translator.”

Localization
Language directly affects usability. Your buttons, menus, form fields, and microcopy should be localized to match Croatian user expectations.

Avoid common pitfalls of machine or low‑quality translation
Translation greatly influences user experience and buying behavior. Poor translations lead to loss of trust, lower conversion rates, confusion, and frustration.
Automatic translation has indeed come a long way since the early days of Google Translate. However, some quick facts:
- AI and machine translation tools were mostly trained on English materials (according to OpenAI, English represented 93% of GPT-3’s training data).
- Croatian accounts for approximately 0.2% of all website content on the internet (W3Techs, February 2026), which is why it’s considered a low-resource language. This means there is a lack of training data, and the results just can’t be as good.
I’m not saying don’t use AI at all, just be aware it’s not a magic wand.
Your communication with buyers, users, or potential clients is way too important to put it through ChatGPT and call it a day.
Working with a professional localization specialist ensures your message is not only correct but also natural and culturally appropriate.
Localization pricing and rates
Every project is unique, so I’ll provide a tailored quote after reviewing your files. That said, for budgeting purposes, most projects fall within a range that’s roughly comparable to €0.10 per word.
Final pricing depends on a few key factors, such as:
Word count
Discounts are possible for long-term collaborations, retainer-type agreements, or larger projects with flexible deadlines. Repetitive content is billed at a reduced rate. (In other words: the more you translate, the more you save.)
Subject matter and complexity
General business or lifestyle texts typically fall on the lower end of the scale. Highly specialized or technical content may require additional research and subject-matter expertise, which can affect pricing.
Turnaround time
Level of adaptation needed
While for some texts a straightforward translation and basic localization will be more than enough, others may require a significant amount of adaptation, rewriting, transcreation, or SEO optimization. The more creative or specialized the adaptation, the more time and expertise it requires.
If you’re unsure where your project fits, feel free to get in touch – I’m happy to advise.
New clients may be asked for an advance payment. The minimum order for small projects is €20.00.
How it works
You send your content
Share your website text, documents, or marketing materials (.xliff, .docx, .txt, .pptx, .xlsx, .csv, .html, .xml.… any kind of editable file is ok), as well as a few sentences about your business, or ideally – a content brief.
We clarify the details
I ask questions and confirm the deadline and pricing, as well as your goals, target audience, and preferred tone to make sure your message lands perfectly in Croatian. If needed, we can also schedule a call to get to know each other.
Translation & adaptation
Your content is translated, localized, and polished so that it reads naturally in Croatian. If I have any questions along the way, I’ll contact you via email.
Review & delivery
You receive the translation ready to use, in the same format you sent it. If you have any questions, comments or tweaks, I’ll be happy to help.
You publish with confidence
Your Croatian content is ready to engage, persuade, and convert.
FAQ
Who can benefit from Croatian localization services?
They’re perfect for app & software companies targeting Croatian users, SaaS companies entering the Croatian market, eCommerce platforms serving Croatian customers, and any organization aiming for a seamless experience for Croatian users.
How long does localization to Croatian take?
Turnaround depends on the length and complexity of your content. For most projects, I can typically localize 1,500–2,000 words per working day. Once it is complete, I let it rest for a day or two so I can edit it with a fresh set of eyes before sending it back to you.
How much do localization services into Croatian cost?
Every project is unique, so you’ll receive a tailored quote after reviewing your files. That said, for budgeting purposes, most projects fall within a range that’s roughly comparable to €0.10 per word.
Do you offer localization into other languages?
For marketing and localization projects, I translate from English, French and Czech exclusively into Croatian, as these types of texts should always be handled by a native speaker.
Do you use localization software and can you work with mine?
Of course. I use Trados Studio, a professional translation software that helps keep your terminology consistent and speeds up the process. Just to be clear, these tools aren’t the same as automatic translation – every word is still carefully translated and reviewed by me.
I’ve also worked with Phrase, memoQweb, Smartcat, Lokalise, etc., so if your team already uses a specific platform – I’m happy to adapt.
